MCEI Marketing Awards Hits a Glitch
It does not matter how much effort and planning you put into an event, things can still go wrong. MCEI has over a dozen Chapters around the World. Every two years they hold a World Congress and every other year they hold the Asia Pacific Conference.
In 2001 MCEI Melbourne held the World Congress with 95 International Delegates. This year Melbourne was requested to hold the Asia Pacific Conference in conjunction with the Marketing Awards. This Conference (by tradition) was to be held over 4 days.
MCEI Marketing Awards Are About to be Judged
The MCEI Marketing Awards are about to close (October 1st). Entrants have completed their part, now it is up to the administrators and judges to do theirs.

- Submission (answers to the 5 questions)
What Have All the MCEI Marketing Awards Finalists and Winners Been up to During the Past Year?
Susan Gianevsky of ‘Be Free Now’ was Highly Commended in the MCEI Marketing Awards in 2009. Apart from her entry, Susan immediately started demonstrating just how a great ambassador works. She attended the Launch of the 2009 Awards and was an active participant in the Auction (which raises funds for the Awards).
Then when she attended the Awards Presentation she had 33 guests! Wow – what a party they had! It will be hard for anyone to beat that target for future awards. But it seems from Susan’s comments below that she plans to beat her own record!

“Like Most of you I cannot believe almost a year has passed since the 2009 awards and dinner.
Wow!
I have had a wonderful year. I have my ‘Aromatic Workplace’ Presentation up and running. The Aromatic Workplace is where I go into workplace and talk to employers and employees about the therapeutic benefits and uses of using essential oils at work to help combat stress and illness and to go along with my workplace presentations I have developed 5 essential oil blends for the workplace and any really enjoying sharing my knowledge and offering a holistic alternative solution to stress management.

“It’s been an incredible year for Nature Direct. Our feet haven’t touched the ground since we were nominated and became finalists in the MCEI Awards for 2009.
We’ve employed three extra people in the last eight weeks, and have had a growth rate of 40% – and still we are just getting our first person in Brisbane (which is weird, because that’s where our business is located).

Janet Beckers of Wonderful Web Women was the ‘Australian Marketer of the Year’ and won a trip for two to Club Med in Phuket. She has had a real ‘up and down’ year; with the downs through no fault of her own. But as would be expected, Janet has come up trumps! This is her summary of the year.

You may be wondering just when the marketing strategy you wish to present to the judges needs to have taken place. Your tactics may have been ongoing or may have taken place within a specific time frame. However, it would be anticipated that the strategy you are discussing in your entry would have taken place within the last three years.
Testimonial & Referees
You require a testimonial from someone of importance (other than your Mum). This person could come from another business, business coach, mentor, business association e.g. Chamber of Commerce or Government department.
WHEN FINALISTS AND WINNERS OF THE MCEI MARKETING AWARDS ARE NOTIFIED
One of the features that make the MCEI Award Presentation very special, is the element of surprise and consequent delight and excitement of the entrants. This is only achieved because no one has any idea of who are finalists or who are winners.
Consequently the organisers of the awards have made it compulsory for all entrants to be present at the Award Presentation (to be held in Melbourne) or to have a designated representative attend in their place. MCEI can assist with finding entrants a representative if they wish (the entrant will have to pay the entrée of their representative to the Presentation Dinner)
